Fondazione Zegna was established in 2000 in Trivero at the behest of the Zegna Family, with the goal of continuing the values, vision, and work of Ermenegildo Zegna, who founded the wool mill in 1910, which still bears his name today. The foundation’s mission is based on three pillars: socially relevant scientific research, education and training, and initiatives to protect and enhance cultural and landscape heritage.
Fondazione Zegna’s projects are also realized through a network of Italian and international stakeholders aimed at promoting sustainable development of local communities, conserving and enhancing environmental resources, as well as advancing culture, education, health, and medical research. Over the years, a network of partners has developed around the Foundation, with whom it has established lasting collaborations and created impactful, generative projects with specific objectives and beneficiary impact analyses. With some partners, project development remains constant, continuously evolving in a creative and generative way.
Fondazione Zegna and Cittadellarte share a common area, Biella, and a commitment to building an international network for social change while remaining connected to their roots. Together, the two institutions aim to explore collaborative opportunities between art and business, offering an educational and training path for young artists and researchers from around the world and creating innovative models of cultural investment.
