The observatory was the first association to deal with landscape in Italy. It was born in 1994 as a committee. It was therefore formed as an association in 1998, with the aim of connecting all those who operate in the field of cultural heritage. Over time, the observatory has focused more and more attention on the concept and meaning of landscape: over the years it has taken on the value of the surrounding environment from a postcard landscape, and has become everything that surrounds us based on the perception of those who lives.
The document to which it refers is the European Landscape Convention which declares that the landscape is a common good, as well as water, and to enhance it is necessary to involve those who live in the landscape: the residents, those who work there, those who want to take care of it… The Observatory then began to develop good practices of disclosure and public participation.
