The Gal operate as "local development agencies" for the economic revitalization of rural mountain and hill areas, aggregating and enhancing very fragmented and dispersed economic and social realities.
Gal Montagne Biellesi is a limited liability consortium company made up of public and private partners that grants non-repayable grants to micro and small businesses operating in the agriculture, crafts, tourism and personal services sectors and for institutions public. The Gal supports initiatives in the following lines of action:
- Development and innovation of supply chains and local production systems,
- Sustainable tourism;
- Access to essential public services.
An example of an initiative supported and promoted by the LAG is "Turismo per tutti" project, a full immersion in tourism to discover the Biella culture and food and wine organized by Viaggi e Miraggi - Wool Travel Experience and aimed at blind people.
